Educational Requirements & Selection:

  • 10+2 or an equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and ideally Biology is the minimum requirement for BE/B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering.

  • A four-year bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering is required.

  • In addition to having the necessary academic credentials, candidates must take the entrance exam held at the State, National, or University levels.

  • An All-India Examination is held by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, to determine admission to agricultural institutions across the nation for B.Tech. programs.

  • The other two admission exams recognized by several institutions are the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) run by IIT and the All-India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE).

  • Other than these, any State or institution may hold its own entrance test. A few examples include the State Entrance Examination held by the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (SEE UPTU), the EAMCET administered by Andhra Pradesh, the KCET administered by Karnataka, etc.
